Graveside services for Jim Peoples will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Lawrence Cemetery with inunrment to follow the graveside service under the direction of Newton County Funeral Home.

Bro. William Savell will officiate the service.

James Malcolm Peoples was born Tuesday, June 30, 1959 in Laredo, Texas to his parents Jack and Eunice Hand Peoples, who precede him in death.  He was a 1977 graduate of Newton High School and remained here until his passing. He was a retired project supervisor at MDOT who enjoyed motorcycle riding and hanging out with his friends. Jim passed away Monday, August 25, 2025 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson at the age of 66.

Survivors include two daughters, Layla Field (Shannon) of Traverse City, MI and Hannah Harvey (Benjamin) of Meridian;  two grandchildren, Hank Field and Mela Cain;  one brother, John Macon Peoples, III (Sheila) of Petal and one sister, Frances  Graham of Brandon and four nieces.
