Mrs. Jewel Cochran, 100, of Hickory, MS passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Meridian, MS. There will be a gathering of family and friends at Hickory Cemetery at 1:30pm on Sunday, March 8, 2015 with a graveside service beginning at 2:00PM with Bro. Thomas Laird officiating. Newton County Funeral Home - South of Newton, MS is in charge of arrangements 601-635-3200.

Mrs. Cochran was a lifelong resident of Newton County and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.

She is survived by brother: Clinton Hearn of Augusta, GA;
daughter-in-law: Charlotte Stamper (Don) of Hickory, MS;
grandchildren: Kim Lawson of Hickory, MS, Sissy Rash of Hickory, MS and Neil Cochran (Lanea) of Chunky, MS; great-grandchildren: Brittney and Blake Cochran, Jody, Anthony, Aaron and Albert Lawson, Shawn Halford (Shelley) and Micah Smith.

She is preceded in death by: husband: Olen A. Cochran; son: Prentiss O. Cochran; brother: Lee Hearn; sisters: Annie Miles and Jessie Matlock and a great granddaughter: Kali-Rae Rash.

Pallbearers will be: Anthony Lawson, Jody Lawson, Aaron Lawson, Shawn Halford, John Brand and Lowery McGee.
