Funeral services for Jessie Bell Pace will be 11 A.M. , on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Newton County Funeral Home North with Rev. Mark Vincent and Rev. Bruce Taylor officiating.

Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 10 A.M. - 10:45 A.M.on Saturday at the fuenral home.

Mrs. Pace, 90 of Newton, formerly of Decatur, died Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Woodland Court Retirement Center in Newton. She loved tending to her flowers and housekeeping. Traveling was a favorite past time. She was a people person, having "never met a stranger." She enjoyed spending time with her friends and going to the Senior Citizens Center at Decatur to have lunch everyday. She was a lover of animals, often taking in all the strays that came to her back door. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and her late husband owned and operated Pace's Grocery in Decatur for many years. She was a longtime member of Decatur United Methodist Church, and in recent years joined the congregation at Clarke Venable Baptist Church at Decatur.

Survivors include three children: David Robin Pace of Madison; Jan Pace Hayes and husband Marty and Carole L. Henry, both of Quitman; two grandchildren: Jeff Addy and wife Lisa and Jake Addy and wife Stacy, both of Decatur; three great-grandchildren: Lauren Addy, Jacob Addy, and Josh Addy; one niece: Patricia Spivey Carswell, Cummings, GA; and one nephew: John Spivey, Atlanta, GA.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph Robin Pace; parents: John and Nora Dees Jones and one sister: Eileen Spivey.
