Jerry Ellis Crawford, 70 of Union, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022 at the Hilltop Manor Nursing Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm at Newton County Funeral Home-North with funeral services immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Decatur City Cemetery . Mr. Joel Weaver, his nephew will preside.

Jerry was a photographer by profession, having worked at Peavy's in Meridian and for the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. During his working years, he had the pleasure of meeting countless celebreties in the music and entertainment world. He was genuine, good to others, having an innocence about him, and a serenity about him, exihibiting a calming effectt. Jerry was artistically talented, in many mediums, often selflessly sharing those talents with others. He will be remembered as a good friend to many, who will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Ellis Crawford and his mother, Betty Jean Stewart Stevens.

Survivors include his wife, Victoria M. Crawford; son, Mason Crawford; step-son, Steven Bailey; brother, Jimmy Crawford; sisters, Judy Harper and Janice Hays; granddaughter, Skylin Wilkerson, and many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Jim Hays, J.P. Hays, Joe Barrett, Aiden Merrell, Joel Weaver, and Token McCurdy.

Honorary pallbearer will be Jace Weaver.

Special music will be performed by Kenny Suire.
