Jean B. Chaney, 85, of Hickory, MS died Sunday, October 9, 2016 at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born Tuesday, August 4, 1931 in Hickory, MS.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home - South in Newton and again at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Hickory, MS. Bro. Thomas Laird and Dr. Randy Rich will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home - South is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Chaney was a career-long accountant and owned Chaney Accounting and Tax Service in Newton, MS for nearly 40 years.

She is preceded in death by her Husband C.R. Chaney; Parents, Alex and Dolly Buckley; Sisters - Eva Hearn and Pearl Balkcum; Brothers - Darling Buckley, Martin Buckley, Howard Buckley, Hardy Buckley, Alex Buckley, Jr., Joseph Buckley, and Doris Buckley.

Survivors include her Daughter - Pam Steverson (Dan), Sons- Paul Chaney (Amie) and Alex Chaney (Rachel), Grandchildren: Alan Chaney, Jonathan Chaney (Lindsey), Flynn Steverson, Daniel Steverson, Sarah Chaney, Nathan Chaney; one Great-GrandChild - Eva Kate Chaney; Sister-in-law - Patricia Buckley, Brother-in-law - Jimmy Balkcum; a host of nieces and nephews; and many special people to which she held dear.

Pallbearers will be Alan Chaney, Jonathan Chaney, Nathan Chaney, Flynn Steverson, Daniel Steverson, Brian Platt, Sam Huey and Eddy Chaney
