Janie Hattaway Blackburn, 77 of Brandon, MS passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. She was born Thursday, October 11, 1945 in Newton, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Newton County Funeral Home-North with funeral services immediately following.  Burial will follow in Conehatta Methodist Cemetery in Conehatta, MS. Janie was a licensed beautician.  She enjoyed shopping and cosmetology.  Janie was a committed wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family.  She will truly be missed by all that knew her.  Her family and friends can find peace knowing that she is reunited with her loving husband.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold David Blackburn; father, Algie Hattaway; mother, Clarice Tune Hattaway, one sister and her two brothers.

Survivors include her son, Mike Blackburn; daughter, Lisa Eidson (Kyle); grandchildren, Dylan Blackburn (Mallory), Taylor Blackburn (Brice), Camryn Eidson (Triston) and Carlie Eidson; great grandchildren, Ava Holder, Emerie Reeves, Blair Blackburn and Eden Blackburn.

Pallbearers will be Tim Blackburn, Tab Blackburn, Jim Blackburn Jr., Brice Reeves, Dylan Blackburn, Josh Sumrall, and Brandon Sumrall.

Honorary pallbearers will be Norman Blackburn and Drew Blackburn.
