James (Scooter) Thomas, 36, of Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2019 in Washington State. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00A.M. on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Newton County Funeral Home South in Newton, MS with Pastor Casey Hollingsworth officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00A.M. until 11:00A.M..  Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  (601-635-3200)

Scooter will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son and brother. He worked as a lineman for the past 15 years and was a respected co-worker that will be especially remembered as a great teacher and leader. Scooter was a friend to everyone he knew and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.

He is survived by his wife: Stephanie Thomas; daughters: Kaitlyn, Hannah, Leah and Abigail Thomas; father: Ronald Thomas, Sr.; mother: Beverly Thomas; brother: John Thomas; sisters: Katherine, Alexandra and Cal-ea Thomas and a host of extended family.

He is preceded in death by one brother: Ronald Thomas, Jr. and a special grandfather: Bobby Thomas.
