Obituary

Services for Mr. James C. Paschal will be held Friday, April 17, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home- South in Newton, MS. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service time beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Newton Masonic Cemetery, Newton, MS. Dr. Brian Rushing will officiate.

Mr. James C. Paschal, 92, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. MS. He was born Sunday, April 1, 1923 in Bessemer, AL.

Mr. Paschal enlisted in the Army at age 19. He served our country in WW II in various campaigns which included Normandy and Ardennes Central Europe Rhineland (Battle of the Bulge) all which were under General Patton. During his service Mr. Paschal earned several medals which included 5 bronze stars.
After his military career he graduated from Clarke College and obtained his Master's Degree from Peabody College in Nashville.

Mr. Paschal will be remembered for his love for his family and his country.

He is predeceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Edna Ruth Paschal, parents, William and Erma Paschal, and four sisters and one brother.

He is survived by his two daughters: Jan P. Guyse and her husband Clyde Guyse Jr.,Pearl, MS; Kay Paschal Freeman and husband Carroll Freeman, Smyrna, GA, and three grandsons: William "Will" Clyde Guyse and wife Crystal, Brandon, MS; Grant Paschal Guyse, Nashville, TN, and Adam Matthew Freeman, Smyrna, GA,

Pallbearers will be Will Guyse,Grant Guyse, Adam Freeman, , Carroll Freeman, Bill Freeman, andTommy Harthcock, Jr.,

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Salvation Army of Jackson, MS or the Gideon's International.
