James Randle "J.R." Addy, 56 of Hickory, MS passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022 at  Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. He was born Monday, November 22, 1965 in Newton, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Clarke-Venable Baptist Church in Decatur, MS with funeral services immediately following the visitation.  Burial will follow in Chunky Cemetery in Chunky, MS.  Bro. J.R. will be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, brother, and Pops to Gracelyn.  To know J.R. is to know that he was a hard working man.   J.R. was a very patient and humble man.  He was a mentor to many young men in which he shared his work ethic with them.  J.R. could always be counted on to be a help whenever and wherever needed.

Preceded in death by his grandparents: Buddy and Lydia Harris; Bob and Lorene Addy; and sister-in-law Marian Chaney.

Survivors include his wife, Michelle Addy;  son, Matt Addy (Kellye);  daughter, Lily Chambers (Mac);  parents, Bobby and Syble Addy;  brother, Kenny Addy;  sister, Linda Gail Felton (Steve);  granddaughter, Gracelyn Chambers;  nephews, Brian Felton (Kayla), Blake Chaney, Lane Roncali and Eli Roncali;  niece, Kristen Smith (Jason);  father-in-law and mother-in-law Kenneth and Beth Chaney;  and brother-in-law, Michael Chaney (Linda); and his loving dog Daisey.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Acord, Jacky Johnson, Steve Felton, Brian Felton, Jayden Butler, Mike Butler, Lewis Coker, and Mike Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be M.O.S.E.S. Sunday School Class, Newton County Supervisors, Beat 5 County Barn, and Scott Therrell.
