James Harvey Jones, 66, of Newton, Mississippi, died Thursday, October 1, 2020, in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born Saturday, February 27, 1954, in Newton, Mississippi.

Graveside Services will be held Sunday, October 4, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Lee Balliet will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (601) 683-2152

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mary Jones; sister, Sarah Slattery; brothers, Willie Ray Jones and Jimmy Dale Jones; niece, Judy Foreman.

Survivors include his brothers, William Jones (Gail) and Jerry Jones (Carolyn); numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Adam Terrell, Chris Jones, Michael Jones, Robert Jones, Derrick Jones, and Dewayne Richardson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde McDaniel, Terry Lee Terrell, Eddie Slattery, and Raymond Jones.
