Newton, MS – Services for James Isaac Harris will be held Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Newton County Funeral Home-South in Newton, MS. Burial will follow at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Newton, MS. Dr. James L. Spencer will officiate.

Mr. Harris 45, died Monday, June 8, 2015 at UMC in Jackson, MS after a long battle with cancer.

James was a lifelong resident of Newton County. He was an avid outdoorsman that thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his daughter, Megan. Chicken as he was known, will be remembered for being a loving, wonderful, one-of-a-kind person and will truly be missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack H. and Frances E. Harris.

He is survived by his Daughter, Megan Elizabeth Harris; Sister Faye Dean (Joey); Nieces: Hope Harris, Lindsay Atkins (Luke), Ashley Rigdon (Adam); Nephews: Stephen Harris, Grant Gallaspy, Gaige Gallaspy, and Gavin Gallaspy.

Pallbearers will be: Jeff Sibley, Scott Sibley, Matt Gallaspy, Stephen Harris, Ken Richardson, and Curt Walker.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home-South in Newton, MS.
