James E. Daniel, 72, of Chunky, MS died Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. He was born Sunday, October 14, 1945 in Meridian, MS.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home - South in Newton. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 2:30 PM at Providence Baptist Church, Duffee, MS. with visitation 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Bro. Jackie Strebeck and Bro. Lin Chesney will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home - South is in charge of arrangements. (601) 635-3200

James retired from La-Z-Boy after several years of faithful employment. He enjoyed farming and fishing. He loved his family and will truly be missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his :Parents James N. and Julia A. Daniel.

Survivors include his Sisters - Wanda Todd (Jerry), Hickory, MS, Patricia Butts, Birmingham, AL; Niece - Christie Peterson (Kyle), Birmingham, AL, Great Nephew - Sidney Peterson and Great Niece - Sophie Peterson.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Peterson, Pat Wells, Mike Chaney, Eugene Alexander, Jerry Cooley, Demp Parks, and Tyler Overby.

Honorary pallbearers will be George Todd, Ralph Chaney, and Mickey Bunyard.
