James Victor Baucum, 52 of Hickory, MS, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at his residence in Hickory, MS.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home North on Saturday, January 10, 2015.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Newton County Funeral Home North with Bro. Robert Roncali officiating. Burial will be in Concord Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Baucum will be remembered as being a master wood craftsmen. There wasn't any challenge that he could not overcome working with wood.
One of his favorite sayings was, "there is not a better built birdhouse than a Baucum built birdhouse".
Preceded in death by his parents; Mason O'Neil Baucum and Freda Katherine Laird Baucum.
Survivors include his brothers; John Paul Baucum (Wendy) and Joe Baucum (Sharon).

Pallbearers will be Scott Nunley, Waylon Nunley, Danny Brown, Tyler Brown, Charlie Brown, and Michael Cook.
