Jackie Glen Baucum, 53 of Katy, TX passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 at the Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital in Katy.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 1:50 pm at Newton County Funeral Home - North.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 04, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Newton County Funeral Home - North. Burial will follow in Newton County Memorial Gardens in Newton, Mississippi. Dr. Randy Rich and Bro. Jack Giles will officiate. Mr. Chuck Sanders will deliver the eulogy with special remarks being made Jackie's daughter, Brianne.
Jackie was born Thursday, September 10, 1970 in Meridian. He was a graduate of Meridian High School and furthered his education at Meridian Community College, majoring in mathematics. As a professional salesman, he excelled in the HVAC industry for the last twenty eight years. He loved all sports, especially baseball, and was a member of the Meridian High Baseball Wildcats. He enjoyed car races, especially as a NASCAR fan, in particular, Chase Elliot. An avid Ole Miss Fan, he continued the Baucum loyalty to the University of Mississippi. He was a Christian by faith and a member of the Church of the Way at Meridian. He loved his family very much and his fur babies. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Spencer Tracy "Duke" Baucum.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Shea Carson Baucum of Katy, TX; one son, Spence Baucum (Chelsea Jordan) of Lake Charles , LA; one daughter, Brianne Baucum of Katy, TX; his mother, Jane Alexander Holifield (Dick) of Hickory; one sister, Tracey Dooley (Chuck) of Meridian; one grandson, Jordan Duke Baucum of Lake Charles, LA and three nephews.
Pallbearers will be Colton Dooley, Chase Dooley, Trey Dooley, Roy Alexander, Chuck Dooley, and Johnny Baucum.
Special music will be performed by Kevin White, David Rives, and Brianne Baucum.
Newton County Funeral Home - North is in charge of arrangements.
