Jack Morgan Weaver, 74, of Newton Mississippi passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, in Jackson, MS.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Newton County Funeral Home- North in Newton, MS. A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the Newton County Methodist Church, with a visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Newton County Memorial Garden. Rev. Gary Howse will officiate.
Jack was born on January 8, 1943 in Newton, MS. He graduated from Newton High School, then attended East Central Community College, where he was selected as an All-State football player. Following that, he continued his football career as a "Choctaw" at Mississippi College, where he graduated.
Jack was a business owner and cattle farmer in Newton, MS. He was an active member of the Newton United Methodist Church where he was involved with the Christian Fellowship Sunday School class and the Administrative Council. Other positions he formerly held in the church were: Chairman of the Administrative Board and Chairman of the Trustees.
Jack most enjoyed the Depot Coffee Club, the Garlandville Hunting Club, and riding around the farm to check on his cows. In the words of his brother-in-law, "Jack was a fine Christian man with a wonderful family. He was a friendly fixture around Newton, MS that everyone loved. He will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him."
Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Dearing Weaver, and his father, Jack Weaver.
Survivors include: his wife Nancy Vardaman Weaver, his children Jack Ryan Weaver (Leeann), Bruce Eric Weaver, and Kimberly Weaver Landry (Tommy), Miesha Weaver Dumboski, his sister Sonya Weaver Ezell (Larry), his three beloved grandchildren Lexi Landry, Alli Landry, and Layton Landry, and his three nieces Melody Eclavea (Mark), Sharon Ezell, and Lauren Skvarla (Matt).
