Irene Jones, 92, of Newton, Mississippi, went home to be with her Lord, Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Anderson's Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Mississippi. She was born Friday, June 11, 1926 in Dearborn, Michigan.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September  6, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Newton County Funeral Home-South in Newton, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Mt Vernon Baptist Church in Newton, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Mt Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. She was preceded in death by her husband, Levoy P. Jones, Jr.; her parents, Peter and Josephine Romaszenko; two sisters and six brothers.

Survivors include her son, William Richard Jones (Diane); her daughter, Sandra McNeil; grandchildren, Rhonda Williamson (Ronnie), Carol Fulford, Renee' Creel (Keith), Shane Jay (Adrian), Kimberly Lindley (Scott), Valerie Manganello; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Scott Lindley, David Everett, Ronnie Williamson, Keith Creel, Bill Boulton, and William Lucy.
