Obituary

Imojean Hedrick, 89, of Newton, Mississippi, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Bedford Care Center of Newton. She was born Friday, April 25, 1930 in Conehatta, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Newton County Funeral Home- North. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM in the chapel. Burial will be in the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Michael Harper and Bro. Randy Cuchens will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jean was a lifetime resident of Newton County. She was employed by the Newton Company for many years before her retirement. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Newton where she served as a nursery worker for many years taking care of babies, which she loved so much. She was also employed at Walmart where she served as a greeter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hedrick; parents, Warner B. and Irma Cater Turner; her beloved son, Larry Hedrick; siblings, Andrew Turner, Cora Mae Leach, Dub Turner, Merlene Waltman, Verneida Simmons, Clyde Turner, Edna Beeland, Tommy Turner, and Katherine Chaney.

Survivors include her son, Steve Hedrick, grandson Blake Hedrick (Haley), and great-granddaughter, Olivia Turner Hedrick.

Pallbearers will be Kent Wheeler, Rodis Shealy, Sam Thames, Robert Munn, Charles Beeland, Jr., and Craig Jenkins

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Matthews and Jacob Mason.
