Mrs. Helen Jean Nelson, age 82, passed away on February 8, 2018.

Jean was born in Newton, MS to Otho and Annie Richardson.
Mrs. Jean was a lifelong resident of Newton County and a devoted member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She will be truly missed by her loving family, friends, and all that knew her.

She is survived by sons, Wayne Nelson and Wendell Nelson (Brenda); daughters, Deborah Harris and Gloria Fisher (Jim); sister Florine Addy; brothers, Hubert Richardson (Dianne) and Royce Richardson (Sarah); grandchildren, Casey Mancini (Davin), Ryan Wilkerson, Brent Still, Erik Still(Courtney) and Kellee Burke (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Aiden Hill, Ryker Mancini, Davin Mancini II and Maddie Kate Burke; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Wilkerson, Davin Mancini, Jim Fisher, Tim Richardson, Glenn Davis and Mike Richardson.

She was preceded in death by parents, Otho and Annie Richardson, husband, Durward Nelson, and great-grandson, Jaden Pierce.

Visitation will be held Saturday, 10th of February, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home-South. Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Nelson will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home-South with Bro Daniel Richardson and Bro. David Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
