Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Newton County Funeral Home North in Newton, MS, with Dr. Brian Rushing officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 PM - 8 PM at Newton County Funeral Home North on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery . Mr. Johnson was married to his wife of 52 years, Mrs. Lynda Johnson. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Newton, MS, he loved spending time with his family, enjoyed RV'ing with friends & socializing with people.

He is survived by his wife: Lynda Chapman Johnson, Lawrence, MS; 1 Son: James Harold Johnson & wife Kathy, Newton, MS; 1 Daughter: Renee Lyles & husband Ken, Lawrence, MS; 4 Grandchildren: David Johnson, John Clay Lyles, Nate Johnson, & Natalie Lyles; 2 Brothers: Amos Johnson, Morton, MS & Jerry Johnson & wife Sharon, Collinsville, MS; 1 Sister: Janie McMullan & husband Doyle, Decatur, MS; 2 Nephews: Stephen McMullan & Justin Johnson; 1 Niece: LeAnn Sullivan.


He was preceded in death by his Parents: Elijah Cook Johnson & Mavis Giles Johnson & 1 Grandson: Brandon Clark Johnson.
