Services for Harold David Blackburn will be held Monday, February 22, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home - North in Newton, MS . Burial will be at the Conehatta Methodist Cemetery in Conehatta with Newton County Funeral Home - North in charge of arrangements. Bro. William Savell and Bro. Ryan Reed will officiate.

Mr. Blackburn, 72, died Friday, February 19, 2016 at UMMC. He was born Monday, June 21, 1943 in Hinds County, MS.

Mr. Blackburn was born and raised on a farm near Conehatta. He joined the Air Force and then went on to work in the oil field industry in which he retired after 25 years. He was a committed and loving husband, father and grandfather. He will truly be missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by: father Pat H. Blackburn and brother Bobby Blackburn.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janie Blackburn, daughter Lisa Eidson (Kyle), son Mike Blackburn (Missy); grandchildren: Dylan Blackburn, Taylor Blackburn, Camryn Eidson, Carlie Eidson; great-granddaughter, Ava Holder; mother, Thelma Blackburn Holladay, brothers: Curtis Blackburn (Susie), Jimmy Blackburn (Carol), Larry Blackburn (Jo).

Pallbearers will be: Norman Blackburn, Tim Blackburn, Drew Blackburn, Tab Blackburn, Jim Blackburn, Jr., Brandon Holder, Josh Sumrall, and Brandon Sumrall.

Honorary pallbearers are Neal Holliman and Paul Lampton

Visitation will be held Monday, February 22, 2016 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home - North in Newton.
