Funeral services for Grace Marie Walker will begin at 11:00 am on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Hickory Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Hickory Cemetery under the direction of Newton County Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am on Friday at the church .

Mrs. Walker was a native of Little Rock, born November 9, 1929. She was a graduate of Beulah Hubbard High School and began her professional career at Newton Company, continuing her career at La-Z-Boy South with over thirty-six years of service. Mrs. Walker was a member of Hickory Baptist Church where she faithfully attended as long as her health permitted. She passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 at the Bee Hive Homes of Newton, where she had been a resident the past five months at the age of 94.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Johnny Wilbur Walker; one daughter, Pam Boyette (Billy Joe); parents, Howell and Lucy Mae Graham Motley; four brothers, George Motley, Graham Motley, Chaney Motley and William Motley; four sisters, Maude Vance, Joy Landrum, Carlene Chaney and Lona Skinner.

Survivors include three sons, Don Walker (Debra Jo) of Chunky, Johnny Howard Walker (Debbie) and Tommy Walker (Joan) both of Hickory; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.
