Glenn Wilson Wall, age 88 and a resident of Newton passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at the his home in the southern part of Newton County in the Sweetwater community surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home - South (100 Old Highway 15 Loop, Newton, MS). Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 10:00AM at Antioch Christian Church in Newton, MS. Burial will follow in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery in Newton, Mississippi. Bro. Evan Strickland and Bro. William Savell will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home - South is in charge of arrangements 601-635-3200.
Born Saturday, September 8, 1934, Glenn Wilson Wall was a native of Newton County, and was educated in the Hickory School System. He was a retiree from the Mississippi Department of Transportation. Mr. Wall was member of Antioch Christian Church, where he served as former deacon. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hilda Ingram Wall; parents: John C. Wall and Angie Harris Wall; brothers, James Wall and C.E. "Dick" Wall; sisters, Nila Mills, Lenora Sibley, Audie Harris, Mary VanEtten, Alene Roebuck and Edna Sue Wall.
Survivors include his wife, Maddie Ruth Myers Wall; step-sons, Marshall Wooten (Karen), Randy Wooten (Vicky) and Mark Wooten (Reta); step-daughters, Pam Sistrunk (Ricky) and Gail Dubose (George); many nieces and nephews also survive.
Pallbearers will be Ben Kelly, Jeremy Williams, Josh Williams, Samuel Crenshaw, Kris Hollingsworth, Matthew Jackson, Newell Palmer, Dave Hollingsworth, Matt Williams, and Jamie Garrison.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Lee Hollingsworth.
