Glendora LaVerene Chapman, 81, of Newton, Mississippi, passed to her Savior, Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at her home in Newton, Mississippi, surrounded by her family. She was born Tuesday, October 17, 1939, in Newton, Mississippi.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Newton County Memorial Gardens. Bro. Marty Wilson will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (601) 635-3200

LaVerene took great pride in her home and her yard. She loved helping people.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W. C. Chapman, Sr.; her parents, Lamar and Trudy Williams; one grandson, William Drake Chapman and two sisters, Nell Dauro and Gayle Holmes.

Survivors include her children, Tanja De Cort (Thierry), Tonja Chapman Shimfessel, William C. "Chuck" Chapman, Jr., and Teresa Reeves (Mike); grandchildren, Wendie Mangum (Robert), Tasha Shimfessel, Cody Buckley, Jessica Ryan Chapman Moulden (Wesley), Jeremy Ryan Buckley (Adrienne), and Rebekah Hope Buckley; great-grandchildren, Myles Mangum, Max Mangum, Evan Isaiah Shimfessel, Raya Star Dillard, Everlee June Moulden, and Emma Rayne Shimfessel; one brother, W. L. Williams (Carolyn) and a host of loved nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tony Grimes, Todd Pillsbury, and Michael Wayne Hinson.
