Gerald Peter "Pete" Lohrer, 79, of Decatur, Mississippi, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at Anderson's Regency Medical Center in Meridian, Mississippi. He was born Friday, February 14, 1941, in Douglas, Wyoming.

Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at 1:00 PM at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Bro. Cade Price will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (601) 683-2152

Pete enjoyed playing golf, fishing, bird hunting, woodworking, gardening, but more importantly he loved being with his family. He loved the Lord, his Savior, and was known to the many people who knew him as a generous, thoughtful, and kind friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Agnes Lohrer; siblings, Helen Featherson, Linda Robinson, infant twin brother Thomas Lohrer, Mayree Lohrer, and Josephine Lohrer.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Lohrer; children, Christine Sarkady (Jerry), Thomas Lohrer (Kristie), and Lana Montgomery (Jason); grandchildren, Jennifer Densford (Tye), Ryan Sarkady (Carla), Paige Sarkady, Jeffrey Sarkady, Gwyn Montgomery, Celee Montgomery, and Lyla Montgomery; great-grandchildren, Kylar Densford, Kynsie Densford, Kate Densford, Wells Densford, Shepherd Densford, Peyton Frasier, and Paxton Frasier; siblings, Theodore "Ted" Lohrer (Janice), Patricia McKelvey, Ruth Fulton, and Edward "Lad" Lohrer (Irene).
