Funeral services for Gerald Marcus Glenn will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 10:30 A.M, at Newton County Funeral Home North Chapel with the Rev. Mark Vincent and Rev. Bruce Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens with Newton County Funeral Home North, 9998 Hwy 15, Newton, in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Glenn, 70 of Decatur, died Thursday, June 9, 2011 at his home. He was a lifelong resident of Newton County. He enjoyed being outdoors, particularly working with his tractor and farming, restoring automobiles, and tending to his cattle. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force and was a retired equipment superintendent at MDOT. He was a member of Clarke-Venable Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years: Eva Jean Thorne Glenn of Decatur; his daughter: Carla Glenn, of Madison; his son: Marcus Glenn of Brandon;
numerous nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by
his parents: Johnnie & Blanche Johnson Glenn; his sister and brother-in-law: Helen & Anon McMullan, and his nephew: Robert Charles McMullan
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Clarke-Venable Baptist Church, The Gideon's International or the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 10, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
