Frances was born shortly after the end of World War I.  Although she witnessed a century of change and innovation, she enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.  Frances had a reputation for cooking delicious meals, and everyone was welcome at her table.  She also enjoyed gardening, needlework, crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.  Frances was a member of the Newton United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending various club meetings in the Newton community.  The Lord blessed her with a large family whom she loved dearly.  Throughout her life, Frances displayed many characteristics of the Proverbs 31 woman as she served her family with determination and a 'can do' spirit. Her family and friends have been richly blessed by her wonderful example.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Z.J. Garvin;  son, Thomas Zach Garvin;  father, Thomas Eugene Wilson;  mother, Maude Slack Kerr Wilson;  brothers, Parks Wilson and Walter Wilson;  sister, Ruth Rattelman; grandchildren, John M. Garvin, Jr. and Lucas Paul LeBlanc.
