Our much-loved wife, mother, grandmother - 'GG', and aunt, Ethel Frances Bounds Glaze, 79, of Orange Park, Florida entered Heaven on Saturday, March 4, 2023, following a lengthy incapacitation resulting from two major surgeries - a total hip replacement followed by aneurysm surgery in the fall of 2022.

Newton County Funeral Home-South is in charge of the arrangements (601) 635-3200.
Frances was born in Newton, Mississippi on December 18, 1943. She graduated from Newton High School and attended East Central Community College. She was head majorette in both high school and college and had a deep love and talent for dance and art as well as for the outdoors and anything to do with the water. Fran married her high school sweetheart, Horace Glaze, also of Newton, on November 30, 1963. Together they have two daughters, Ginger and Toni. Horace and Frannie provided for and raised their girls in Shreveport, LA, Orlando, FL, and Orange Park, FL.
Always a professional working mother - Frances was an example to her daughters that women can do it all. While in Shreveport, LA she worked almost 10 years at Western Electric and after moving to Orange Park, FL she had an almost 20-year career mostly on the night shift at Anheuser-Busch. She always worked hard to help Horace provide for their family. Frances instilled a strong faith in her girls and God blessed the family greatly.
Remarkably, she was also an accomplished athlete, running numerous marathons and ultra-marathons while working full-time, raising her daughters, and fulfilling all of her other responsibilities. The family often traveled to road races in their camper, frequently with school friends in tow, to cheer mom on and celebrate her continued personal bests and age group wins. These were happy, fulfilling times that profoundly impacted many lives.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Harold and Ruth Bounds, her brother Gene Bounds and her sister Joy (Bounds) Ward.
She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Horace (Gene) Glaze; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Ginger (Glaze) Amador and Arnoldo, and Toni (Glaze) DeLancey and Doug; and six grandchildren:
Jay DeLancey and wife Carinna, Justin Amador and wife Erica, Leah DeLancey, Juliana Amador and husband Joe, Gina DeLancey, and Claire DeLancey; one great grandson, Sebastian Amador, and brother-in-law Jack Ward. Extended family include her precious nephew and nieces, Jack Ward, Jr., Jeannie (Bounds) Abell, Joannie (Bounds) Greene, and Angela (Ward) Doane, and their spouses and children.
