Estelle Matthews Gibbs, 89 of Newton, MS, died Friday, May 2, 2014 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. Funeral services will be held at: 11 AM, on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Newton , MS with Bro. Justin Chaney, Bro. Tommy Tanner, & Bro. Jamie Leach officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 PM - 8 PM Monday May 5 at Newton County Funeral Home South. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. Mrs Gibbs was a longtime member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, she loved her flowers, gardening, watching her birds, traveling, & she loved her granddaughter most of all.

Survivors Include: Son: David Gibbs , Newton, MS; Daughter: Donna Creekmore & husband Jeff, Newton, MS; 1 Granddaughter: Amanda Creekmore; Sister:Ruby Ledlow, Newton, MS; 4 Sister in laws: Annie Lee Gibbs, Charlotte May, Nellie Nelson & husband Ed, & Delia Gibbs; 1 Brother in law: Billy Ray Gibbs & wife Helen; & numerous Nieces & Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years: Harvey Howard Gibbs; Parents:Charlie Franklin Matthews & Annie Mabel Pearson Matthews; Sister: Lozelle Matthews Garrison; & Brother: Charles "Bill" Matthews.
