If you didn't know Elaine odds are that you probably heard her name at some point.  Our mother was loved and respected by many.  She had a heart of gold and would help any and everybody no matter what.  She would give you the shirt off her back.  She loved to cook and boy was she good at it, most people would tell you her hamburger steak with french fries and gravy was second to none!  She was one of the most compassionate, hard headed, loving, hard- working, dedicated, and strong willed women you would ever meet.

She was a matriarch and a second mom to so many in this town.  She treated you like her own family no matter your gender or your race.  She loved her family, her son Shane, her daughters, Brandie and Casey but her granddaughters and great-granddaughter, Samantha, Abby, and Huntleigh Grace were her world.  She was a one of a kind and a very special woman that will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Hollie Shoemake and mother, Inez Perry Shoemake; sisters, Mildred Kitchens and Elizabeth Sumlin; and brothers, Mack Shoemake and Earl Shoemake.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Boyd; son, Shane Shoemake (Norma); daughters, Brandie Heidelberg (Phillip) and Casey Boyd (Dan Gibbon); grandson, Zachary Morrow; granddaughters, Samantha Heidelberg and Abby Heidelberg; great granddaughter, Huntleigh Grace Bucklew; sisters, Alice Driver, Doris Byrd, Betty Anderson, Lola Coleman, and Hilda Jean Wade; and brother, Bobby Shoemake.
