Edwin M. "Tom" Robinson, 88, of Newton, MS died Sunday, January 25, 2015 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, January, 28, 2015 at Newton County Funeral Home South Chapel in Newton, MS, with Bro. Wayne Campbell and Bro. Matthew Pittman officiating. Internment will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
Mr. Robinson was a retired business owner and a lifelong native of Newton County. He was a World War II Naval Veteran, a member of The American Legion, and a member of Chunky Baptist where he was also a member of the Sunshine Sunday School Class.
Preceded in death by: Parents: Lonnie and Gertrude Robinson; sisters: Margie Williams, Louise Craven, Nell Stewart and Teresa Arnett; brother: Ralph Robinson.
Survivors include: wife of 65 years Jeanette Robinson, Newton, MS; daughters: Brenda Thorne (Gary) of Hickory, MS and Rhonda Williams (Bob) of Newton, MS; sister: Doreen Harrison (Bobby);
grandchildren: Michelle Newell, Jason Williams (Seana), Jonathan Thorne, and David Thorne (Danae).
Pallbearers will be: Jason Williams, Jonathan Thorne, David Thorne, Mike Harris, Mark Harris, and Cody Maske.
Honorary Pallbearers are: David Smith, Bobby Addy, Mike Strebeck, Casey Bufkin, Sr., Frank Baucum and Charles Hurst.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Newton County Funeral Home South Location, 100 Old Highway 15 Loop, Newton, MS.
