Services for Mr. Edwin "Max" McGee, age 64 of Hickory, MS, will be held at 11:00a.m. on Friday 11/14/2008 at the Chunky United Methodist Church with Rev. Gerald Chaney and Rev. Frank Kirtley officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. Visitation will be held on Thursday 11/13/08 from 5 to 8:00 p.m. at the Newton County Funeral Home in Newton, MS. Burial will be in the Hickory Cemetery, Hickory, MS. Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-635-3200

Mr. McGee was a member of the Chunky United Methodist Church. He was a retired Senior Operator for Colonial Pipeline, where he was employed for over 35 years.

Survivors include his wife Sammie Jo Cochran McGee, daughter Machelle Daniel and her husband Billy of Collins, MS, a brother, Wayne McGee of Hickory, a sister, Mary Jane Hurst of Chunky, two grandchildren, Blake and Hope Daniel of Collins and a number of special nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents: Edwin and Mildred Jones McGee.

The Family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
