Edwin Donald "Birddog" Walters, 75, of Newton, Mississippi, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019, at his home in Newton, Mississippi. He was born Sunday, August 29, 1943 in Newton, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Newton County Funeral Home-North. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will be in the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Ryan Reed and Bro. Gilbert Allan will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (601) 635-3200

Donald loved to hunt, fish, play golf, and he was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. His golfing buddies were very special to him. Donald was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Preston and Fannie Walters; his brother, Elvin Walters; his son, Randy Walters.

Survivors include wife, Fran Walters; son, Scotty Walters (Dee Dee); brother, Ronald "Tater" Walters; sister, Delphine Knight (Gerald); grandchildren, Tanya Walters (Cody), Stephen Walters, Matt Walters, Lana Walters, and Erika Walters; daughter-in-law, Traci Walters.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Walters, Dalton Sizemore, Doug Mayes, Ronnie Fredrick, Cody McMahan, and Scott Lewis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Walters, Jimmy Coghlan, Larry Blackburn, Kenneth Harris, and Andy Milling.
