Dorothy Marie Barnett Peavy, 68, of Meridian, MS died Friday, May 13, 2016 at Rush Hospital. She was born Thursday, January 22, 1948 in Meridian, MS.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 16, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home - North in Newton. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Newton County Funeral Home - North in Newton, MS. Burial will follow in Meehan Cemetery in Meehan, MS. Bro. She is preceded in death by her Parents: Henry Richard Barnett and Hazel Marie Lewis, Grandson Luke Anthony Johnston, Brother Henry Richard Barnett, Jr., Mother-in-law Fannie Margaret Peavy and Father-in-law Alton Peavy.

Survivors include her Husband Lance Mark Peavy; Sons: Jimmy Gardner (Shirley), Jessie Gardner, Randy Gardner (Felicia), Jamie Johnston; Daughter Lisa Marie Manuel (Todd); Son Lance Stonecypher; Son Tommy Johnston (Lindsey); Daughter Amber Knight (Monte); Step-Father James C. Lewis; Sister Margaret Roberts (Wayne); Brothers Levi Barnett, Jerry Barnett (Kathy); Brother-in-law's Larry Peavy, Russell Peavy, Greg Dale Peavy, Rex Peavy; Sister-in-law's Gale Thomas, Tammy Dew; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Gardner, Bob Anderson, Zack Barnett, Chuck Moorehead, Ethan Miller and Cody Miller.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Smith.
