Dorothy F. Cooley Freeman, 71, of Chunky, MS died Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. She was born Thursday, February 14, 1946 in Meridian, MS.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 2, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home - South in Newton, MS. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Blue Springs Cemetery in Chunky, MS. Bro. Ken McLemore and Bro. Dorothy was an avid cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She worked at the "Back Forty Restaurant" for many years, and prior to that she worked at Midland Shirt Factory in Union, MS.

One of the things she enjoyed most was spending time with her grandchildren at the beach or in the mountains. She enjoyed going to the grandchildren's ballgames and cheerleading and dance competitions.

She is preceded in death by her spouse - Ray Freeman, parents - Abe and Beadie Cooley, one sister - Imogene Hamner and son-in-law Scott McLemore.

Survivors include three daughters - Angie Jones (Dennis), Renee McLemore, and Stephanie Branning (Joey), two sisters - Barbara Brown and Virginia Rigdon, one brother - Jerry Cooley and grandchildren - Brooks, Brittany, and Brandon Jones and Caleb, Nickolas, and Shelby McLemore. Great-grandchild Brady Jones.

Pallbearers will be Lee Littrell, Arlon Mabry, Zelton Mabry, Aaron Cooley, Andrew Cooley, and Ken Hamner,
