Mr. Dewey Nelson, age 73, passed away on June 25, 2018.

Dewey was born in Lawrence, MS to Ellis and Mamie Nelson.

Mr. Dewey served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a lifelong resident of Lawrence, MS and spent most of his working career as a maintenance technician. He enjoyed living a simple life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by sons: Craig Nelson (Tina), Cody Nelson, Clay Nelson, Casey Nelson (Daniele McGuire); step-son Scottie Bryson; step-daughter Jennifer Bryson; grandchildren: Lexxi Therrell, Braxton Therrell, Cameron Nelson, Tianna Nelson, Chasin Nelson, Alexis Nelson, Sara Nelson, Cadin Nelson, Brady Nelson; and great-granddaughter Remington Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his wife Diane Nelson; parents Ellis and Mamie Nelson; and his sisters and brothers.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Lawrence Baptist Church.  A fellowship meal will begin at 11:00 A.M. with a memorial service to follow at the church.  A committal service will take place at 2:30 P.M. at Mississippi Veterans Cemetery in Newton, MS.  Bro.  George Heath will officiate.
