Obituary

Dennis Morrill Stephens, 60 of Newton, MS, died Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Newton County Funeral Home – South, 100 Old Hwy 15 Loop in Newton, MS with visitation preceding the funeral from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon.

Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, Newton, MS.
Newton County Funeral Home North, Hwy 15 North, Newton, MS is in charge of arrangements 601-635-3200.

Family was very important to him and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a avid "Red Sox" fan and enjoyed reading and listening to music of all kinds. He loved the outdoors, playing golf, going to the beach and hunting.
Dennis was a 30-year veteran with Rowan Companies where he was currently working as a barge engineer.

Dennis was a man of faith which was reflected in his daily life. He was a member of All Seasons Worship Center in Forest, MS.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Hampton Stephens.

Sons: Chris Stephens and wife Amber of Clinton, Colby Jolley and wife Erica of Madison
Father: Dick Stephens of Arkansas
Sisters: Judy Stephens Jones and husband L.A. of Arkansas and Debbie Stephens of Arkansas
Brother: Jim Stephens and wife Vicki of Ohio
Brother-in-law: Thurman Alley of Brandon.
7 Grandchildren: Garret Grady, Parker and Dru Stephens, Cade Jolley, Olivia Bradford, Isla and Jules Jolley

Pallbearers: Kenneth James, Doug Wedgeworth, Duran Jenkins, Johnny Cox, Charles Fox, Kent Rose, Zach Foreman and Josh Reeves.
Honorary pallbearers: Johnny Coghlan, Kyle Farris, Garret Grady and Doug Rowse.
