Bro. Davie Stanley Guess, 72 of Union, MS passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022 at his residence in Union, MS. He was born Wednesday, July 19, 1950 in Lexington, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home-North in Newton, MS with funeral services immediately following.   Burial will follow in Mississippi Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Newton, Mississippi. Bro. Bobby Barfoot and Bro. David Jay will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home - North is in charge of arrangements. 601-635-3200

Bro. Guess was a veteran of the United States Navy in which he served on the Saratoga during Vietnam.  He was a graduate from New Orleans Theological Seminary.  He served the Lord faithfully for well over 40 years in many different roles.  He will certainly be missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Willie and Margaret Louise Martin Guess; and brothers, William Guess, Curtis Guess and Jerry Guess.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Patsy Smith Guess of Union, MS; son, Daryl Guess (Ariel) of Baton Rouge, LA;  and daughter, Sandy Guess Collins (Brian) of Philadelphia, MS.

Pallbearers will be Bro. Bobby Barfoot, Ralph Lovern, Tony Alawine, Bobby Cleveland, Maxie Savell, and David Holloway.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lawayne Robinson, J.B. Edwards, and Wayne VanHorn.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Gideons International.
