David Lamar Moore, Jr., 54, of Union, Mississippi, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, March 5, 2020, in Newton, Mississippi. He was born Sunday, May 2, 1965.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 9, 2020 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home-North. Funeral Services will follow at 5:00 PM in the chapel. Bro. Scott Engle will officiate. David followed in his father's footsteps being a butcher for 32 years. David had a high work ethic and was very dedicated to his profession. David's father introduced him to hunting at a very early age which created a love for hunting that lasted all of his life. He loved his coon dogs, his children, and his family. David was a natural comedian and always had a way of making everyone around him laugh. He will be dearly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Moore, Sr. and his grandparents, Elvie and Earleen Moore.

Survivors include his children, Amanda Melton (Jackson), Dustin Moore, Catherine Moore, Breona Rivers (Bradley), Jazmine Forty (Ashton), and Destiny Moore; grandchildren, Brooklyn Forty, Isabella Forty, Wyatt Moore, Sadie Moore, and Piper Harris;  his sister, Tanya Gatewood (Jimmy); nieces, Audrey Dickey and Azure Henning; nephews, Austin Harrell and Justin Harrell.

Honorary pallbearers will be his two nephews, Austin Harrell, and Justin Harrell, and friends, Dakota Myers, Johnny Germany, Kevin Harrison, Lee Wallace, and Steve Kelly.
