Dana Marie
Hayes
July 30, 1977 – October 19, 2022
Our lovable, one-of-a-kind chatterbox, Dana Marie Hayes (nee Stokes), 45, of Decatur, MS, was called home by the Lord on October 19, 2022.
She blessed this world with her presence on July 30, 1977 to parents Dwight and Shelia Stokes of House, MS. She was the life of the party and loved everyone she met, but she was best defined by her love and dedication to the Lord and to her family, she lived for her precious daughters, Aubrey Kate and Macy Brooke. Her beloved husband, Joey Hayes, was the love of her life and her best friend, who has stayed faithfully and dutifully by her side since they eloped in 2005.
Dana was an outspoken southern woman with a heart as big as her mouth. She was dearly and deeply loved by all who knew her. We take comfort in knowing she is happily reunited in Heaven with her father, Dwight Stokes, and grandfather, Buddy Stokes, who she loved so much. Dana touched many people during her time on this earth and she won't ever be forgotten.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 10:00AM until 1:00PM at Clarke-Venable Baptist Church in Decatur, Mississippi. With funeral services immediately following. Burial will take place in the Decatur City Cemetery. Rev. Mark Vincent will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home - North is in charge of arrangements (601)-635-3200.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dwight Stokes; grandfather, Buddy Stokes; and father-in-law Wiley Hayes.
Survivors include her husband, Joey Hayes; daughters, Aubrey Kate Hayes and Macy Brooke Hayes; mother, Shelia Phillips Stokes; brother, Brian Stokes; sisters, Presli Stokes and Lynn Wylie; grandmother, Celia Stokes; aunts, Tonia Coker (Victor) and Tina Miles (Scott); uncle, Aaron Stokes; and mother-in-law, Beulah Nell Hayes; and her nephews.
