Clevis Walley, 80, of Hazlehurst, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Hazlehurst, Mississippi. He was born Monday, October 7, 1940 in Bay Springs, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the Newton County Funeral Home-North in Newton with funeral services immediately following.   Burial will follow in the Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery in Rose Hill, MS. Mr. Clevis was a God-fearing Christian that enjoyed going to church and reading his Bible.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was known to always have a joke to tell and was one that enjoyed the simple things in life.  He always loved his family and will definitely be missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by parents, Virgil Clevis Walley and Naomi Walley and brothers, O.V. Walley and Jerry Walley.

Survivors include his sisters: Linda Carroll, Velda Walley, Glenda Walley, and Sue Walley; brothers: Randall Walley (Gloria), and Rassie Walley; and sister-in-law, Faye Walley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
