Newton, MS
Clark Adams, 69, of Newton, MS died Wednesday, July 5, 2017. He was born Saturday, November 1, 1947 in Greenville, AL.
Mr. Adams obtained his Masters in Church Music from William Carey College and attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He was with Clarke College for over 20 years, serving as a music professor and Chairman of the Music Department. He was also a minister of music for many churches throughout central Mississippi. He retired from his own business in 2012.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Joy Adams. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Adams; daughters, Christina Whittle, Lesley Adams, and Lauren Everett Savell (Nathan); grandchildren, Samuel Thomas Whittle and Sarah Beth Whittle; brother, Andy Adams (Brenda); and nieces and nephews.
A family graveside service will be held Friday, July 7, at Brushey Creek Baptist Church in Georgiana, AL. Newton County Funeral Home - North is in charge of arrangements. (601 635-3200).
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M on September 16, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Newton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gideons International or American Cancer Society.
