Clara Lee Roebuck Strickland, 94, of Newton, MS died Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at J. G. Alexander Nursing Home in Union, MS. She was born Friday, August 3, 1923 in Kosciusko, MS.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home South. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home followed by burial in the Masonic Cemetery in Newton, MS. Rev. Gary Howse will officiate. She is preceded in death by her husband, Glen Thomas Strickland; parents, Herman Roebuck and Violet Roebuck; daughter, Rosemary Everett; grandchildren, Kristie Strickland, Wayne Hollingsworth; sister, Patricia Roebuck and sister, Brenda Pierce.

Survivors include her sons, Robert Strickland (Lynn) and Tony Strickland (Mary), Newton, MS; daughter, Peggy Hollingsworth, Newton, MS; grandchildren, Rhonda Bolton, Randy Strickland, Carl Strickland, Doug Hollingsworth (Linda), Robbie Strickland, Joni Strickland (Chris), Ruth Ellington (Mark) and Sandy Everett; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Carl Strickland, Robbie Strickland, Doug Hollingsworth, Bud Hollingsworth, Chris Strickland and Corbin Ellington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Newton United Methodist Church in Newton, MS.
