Charles Gilmore Pugh, 79 of Decatur, MS, died Sunday, January 4, 2015 at R.P. White Nursing Facility in Meridian, MS.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Newton County Funeral Home North in Newton, MS with Rev. John Sweeney officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Chunky, MS.

He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was always playing jokes and tricking the kids. He was an avid hunter, principally bobcat hunting. He enjoyed all kinds of sports and after retirement he enjoyed farming.

He was preceded in death by: Parents, Charlie "Doc" and Lucille Pugh and the Mother of his children, Geralene Embrey Pugh.

Survivors Include: Two daughters: Pam D. Harber and husband Steve, Decatur, MS; Penny D. Avant and husband Jackie, Decatur, MS; One son: Paul D. Pugh and wife Peggy, Hickory, MS.
Seven grandchildren, Brandi, Stacie, Stephanie, Jackie Denise, Joshua, Cody, and Chelsea; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Two sisters: Elizabeth Massey, Chunky, MS, and Ima "Doodle Bug" Barrett, Chunky, MS
One brother: George "Bronc" Pugh, Ashville, AL.

Pallbearers: Josh Avant, Cody Pugh, Robby Thompson, Todd Reeves, Shannon Cooley, and Tim Lindley.
Honorary pallbearer: Paul Pugh
