James Chadwick "Chad" Sanford, age 56, and a current resident of Union, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at his residence.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm at Newton County Funeral Home - South, with services immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Conehatta Methodist Cemetery. Bro. Dana Sanford, his uncle, will officiate.

Chad loved his family and was devoted to his nieces and nephews, and great-nieces. He was a Christian by testimony of his faith and held membership with Conehatta Baptist Church. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Gary Sanford, mother, Barbara Ann Stewart Anderson and one brother, Larry Sanford.

Survivors include his brother, Gary Sanford of Decatur; two nephews, Bo Sanford of Pearl and Stewart Sanford of Preston and one niece, Katie Collins (Hunter) of Theodore, AL; two great-nieces, MaeLeigh Sanford and Josie Haven, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Thompson, Ralph Lovern, Dale Warren, Troy Tatum. Floyd Harris and Austin Bonds.
