Celia Majure, age 95, passed away on October 13, 2018.

Celia was born in Edinburg, MS.  After graduating high school she went to Mississippi State College for Women where she received her bachelor's degree.  She worked as a legal secretary until her retirement.  She was a member of the Newton United Methodist Church.  Celia played an important role in the foundation of the Newton Library in which she also served on the board of directors for many years.

She is survived by daughter Lola Ann Majure, Staunton, VA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clay Majure; parents, Orem and Lola Ingram; sister, Anna Maude Ingram.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Newton County Funeral Home-South.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at 11:30 AM at Masonic Cemetery with Rev. Gary Howse officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Newton United Methodist Church or United Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
