Cathereen Craven May

Newton, MS - Services for Cathereen May will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Lawrence, MS with Newton County Funeral Home - South in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Brother Tommy Tanner will officiate.

Mrs. May, 92, died Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Bedford Care Center in Newton, MS. She was born Monday, December 10, 1923 in Lawrence, MS.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, James Anderson "Doc" May; her Father and Mother, Martin Luther and Beulah Craven; two brothers, Albert Lee and Ocey Craven; two sisters, Mamie Lee Nelson and Mymie Dear Robinson, one son, Jimmie Wayne May and one daughter, Wanda Dareen Pittman,

She is survived by: Her Daughter-in-law, Barbara May of Theodore, AL; her Son-in-law, Jimmy Pittman (Vicky) of Clinton, MS; five Grandchildren, Gregory Scott May, Michael Guy May, Stephanie May Maddox, Dawn Pittman McCoy and Dustin Pittman and many great-grandchildren along with beloved nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were: Gregory Scott May, Michael Guy May, Joshua May, Jimmy Pittman, Dustin Pittman and Morgan Craven.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
