Services for Carolyn Bufkin Tune will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:30 AM at Newton United Methodist Church in Newton, MS. Burial will be at the Newton County Memorial Garden in Newton, MS with Newton County Funeral Home - North in charge of arrangements. Rev. Gary Howse will officiate.

Mrs. Tune, 89, died Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Tune was born Thursday, February 25, 1926 in Lucedale, MS. She spent most of her adult life in Newton County where she raised her family. She will be remembered for being a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of Newton United Methodist Church where she played the piano for many years. She had various hobbies which included sewing, cooking, reading, collecting antiques, gardening, and bird watching.

One of her greatest joys in life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, in which she invested many hours instilling her values.

She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Lillie Bufkin.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years James T. Tune; sons, Dr. Gary L. Tune (Karen) and Stuart C. Tune (Debbie); grandchildren, Dr. Noelle Tune, Lyndsey Tune, Melissa Lowlavar, Marche Boone, Jeremy Tune, Lydia Greene, Jason Tune, and Jamey Tune,
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law: Lyndsey Tune, Jeremy Tune, Jason Tune, Jamey Tune, Matt Lowlavar, Dr. Brad Boone and Justin Greene.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM at Newton United Methodist in Newton.
