Obituary

Carolyn Evans Sadler, 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 10, 2016 in Corning, Arkansas while visiting one of her daughters.


Mrs. Sadler was born August 19, 1924 in Meridian, Mississippi to parents Elizabeth Kornegay Evans and Millard Evans who both preceded her in death.


On August 17, 1946 she married I. W. Sadler, Jr. in Forest, Mississippi and they remained together until his death on February 14, 1983.


Mrs. Sadler was retired from Hardin's Bakery in Meridian, Mississippi where she served as Chief Accountant for many years at Hardin's Corporate Office.


She is survived by two daughters, Pat S. McGee of Dothan, Alabama and Carolyn S. Duncan and spouse Oneal Duncan of Corning, Arkansas; two grandsons William David McGee of Pensacola, Florida and Tony Sadler Williams and wife Leigh Peters Williams; and great-grandson Tripp Sadler Williams of Corning, Arkansas; one sister Louise Haverkamp of Butler, Alabama and one brother Millard Evans, Jr. of Foley, Alabama; several nieces and great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as many friends.


Services will be held in Newton, Mississippi at the Newton County Funeral Home-South on Saturday, April 16th. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with services immediately following. Rev. Randy Rich of the Hickory Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be at the Hickory Cemetery.


Flowers are welcome. However, memorial contributions to the Hickory Baptist Church will also be accepted. This had been Mrs. Sadler's home church for over 60 years.
