Carol Ann Alexander, 51, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving husband and family on December 11, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Carl Ann was born on July 19, 1969, in Meridian, Mississippi to Gaylon and Wanda Campbell.  She graduated from Hickory High School and then attended Mississippi State University where she graduated with her Bachelor's degree in education.

Carol Ann was happily married to Michael Alexander who was her best friend and partner in life for 23 years at the time of her death.

Carol Ann is survived by her husband Michael, three children, Jordan Wigington, Kyle Alexander (Drea), Ethan Alexander and two grandchildren.  She is also survived by her parents, Gaylon and Wanda Campbell, her brother David Campbell (Susan) and numerous other loved ones.

Besides spending time with her family, Carol Ann was an extraordinary teacher.  She taught at Lake Elementary School for 23 years, where she touched the lives of many with her compassion and love for teaching.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 13, 2020 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Newton County Funeral Home-South in Newton, Mississippi.

A celebration of life service will be held Monday, December 14, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Newton County Funeral Home-South with burial to follow in Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery. Bro. Jess Dilley will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (601) 635-3200

Pallbearers will be Danny Ray Reynolds, Trenity Reynolds, Derrell Edwards, John Franklin Edwards, Chad McCormick, and Jessie Vaughn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Will McCormick, Jason Hester, Nathan Lopez, and Davis Reynolds.
