Bobby Clinton Pugh, 80, of Hickory, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his home, with his loving wife, Annette Pugh, at his side on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. He was born Sunday, May 29, 1938 in Hickory, Mississippi.

After graduation he joined the USAF, he spent many of those years overseas including: Korea, Germany, France, Greenland, and 3 tours in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He served as a Munitions Specialist and later as a First Sergeant.

When Bob retired from the military, he came back home to Hickory, MS where he proceeded to work odd jobs before being employed by Lockheed Martin, where he worked as a supervisor for almost 20 years.

Bob was very active in the community and his church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and traveling to see this country he so loved.

Anyone who knew Bob Pugh understood he was very honest, hard worker, kind to everyone, and enjoyed a good laugh.  He was a true friend, a wonderful husband, and an exceptional father. There will be no other that could fill this great man's shoes.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Hickory, MS. Funeral Services will follow. Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Roger Laird, Bro. Thomas Laird, and Bro. Bert Wilson will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Rosie Pugh; his brother, William Patrick Pugh.

Survivors include his wife, Annette Pugh of Hickory, MS; his daughters, Leslie Rutledge (John) of Owasso, OK and Vicki Lee (Michael) of McHenry, MS; Grandchildren, Sara Evans (Brian) of Clovis, CA, Cassidy Grace Rutledge of Tulsa, OK, Austin Michael Lee of Starkville, MS, Bobbi Lynn Lee of Lumberton, MS, Joseph Hugh Lee of Wiggins, MS, and Amber Rose Lee of McHenry, MS; Great-grandchildren, John Sawyer Evans and Tallulah Belle Evans; Sister-in-law, Vida Pugh of Hickory, MS; Nieces, Diane Pugh of TX and Rene' Pugh of NM; Nephew, Steve Pugh (Cheryl) of Hickory, MS; Cousin, Bobby Caldwell of Hickory, MS; Life-long friends, Bert and Sallie Wilson of Palm Bay, FL.

Pallbearers will be John Rutledge, Michael Lee, Johnny Burkes, Sam Burkes, Joseph Lee and Austin Lee.

Alternate Pallbearers will be Steven Pugh and Glen Bolton.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Harris, Bobby Caldwell, James Otis Swearingen, Robby Brown, Bert Wilson, Kyle Wilson and Arleigh Allen.
